Lake Gosh is a small mountain lake tucked away in the forested hills of Armenia’s Tavush region, about 71 km from Yerevan. Measuring approximately 100 meters in length and 80 meters in width, this crystal-clear lake is a hidden gem surrounded by peaceful, picturesque nature. Its serene setting makes it an ideal destination for those seeking quiet, inspiration, and a connection with the natural world.




The lake is named after the nearby village of Gosh, which in turn was named in honor of Mkhitar Gosh, a renowned Armenian medieval scholar and thinker.
The trail to the lake begins in the village of Gosh, with Goshavank Monastery marking the starting point. From there, a scenic path leads through dense mountain forest, guiding visitors on a tranquil walk to one of Armenia’s most charming and peaceful natural spots.
